Fox Maiden Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 So heres the deal, I made a new race, and put them in a new folder instead of in the actors folder, both the dds files and the nifs (though obviously in their respective meshes and textures folder). The nifs I opened up in nifskope and edited the textures to point to the new folders and the skin textures show up in nifskope. In the CK all the textures and meshes are properly assigned and they show up with the correct textures and models. However, when I get into the game, the skin and meshes are still the meshes from the actors folder, which are UNPB, the meshes I have in my mod folder are the same thing. Could someone tell me how to make the game read the new folder?
canderes Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 When you create a new race if your going to select a different body you need to either create or duplicate an armor addon. Look for nakedtorso under armor addon in the CK and duplicate an existing one. Then you choose your new meshes. If your using custom skin textures you also have to add them to the slider separately from the ones that the game has for all the other races if your going to use more than one skintone. I've never added races before but I'm sure there's something under the races category for specifying custom bodies. Obviously it's still going to use the default armor meshes when you equip something until you create armors, but your skin texture should atleast show up in place of the vanilla one.

Fox Maiden Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 Hmm.. another problem showing up not related to skin textures (at least I dont think so), is that dual wielding only has one weapon showing up... this is confirmed by someone else who uses my mod. Fox Maiden Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 No I havent really tested it, as I said, at the time I just thought it was a weapoin glitched (I noticed it when I was testing my mod). But I will check that out when I get the game going again.
Fox Maiden Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Ok apparently anything in the left hand doesnt show up... I dunno why, I have opened the mod up in the ck and compared the files with one of the vanilla races files, and can't find anything different.

Fox Maiden Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 I used the Lunari race as a pattern - meaning I just made everything I saw in the Lunari for myself (like skinnaked and headparts and so on), and then went through and checked things as I said with the vanilla race. Thanks
