Particularly watch out for long time nexus members whole troll these types of threads with their nexus names offering uninvited help. These type of do-gooder picture whores make me laugh. I am currently involved in a team that is creating a data base of every mod that is available for download on the Nexus and has an alternate legal download source. (There is also a black list being created.) The list was started over seas by some Asian group but was abandoned. It has now been translated and the work continues. 

 

You would be surprised that many of the great mods are available on the authors own private website/pages/blogs or other websites.

 

If anyone is interested in participating feel free to contact me. This account has been created for this purpose. I am not aware of the release date yet. It is a little complicated but a thread will soon be started here at LL by myself or a counterpart.

 

In the mean time I suggest you close your Nexus account. Change your IP address and make a new account with a different user name that can't be connected to any other websites that you are a member of. It is all easily done.

I have my fair share of Nexus hate too but I still can't really go around flaming the site and all it's members just because most of them are douchebags, they could never beat EA or Activision at being trashbags anyway. The Nexus is giving me easy access to new mods and new material to work with without me having to dive through the net for several hours. They are a bunch of shitters but they're a useful bunch of shitters.

 

Besides there's no real alternative. Death to the Nexus you say but what will people do when the Nexus dies? Is there another site out there with the capacity to host the same amount of mods and deal with all the downloads every day? Want all those people to come over to LL? That'd be a dark day for this site imo.

This site should be an alternative fora and platform to Nex rather than to actively usurp its position or launch destructive attacks on it. As there are alternatives to Youtube or MF or Fanfiction.net, this site gives good competition for them to be nervous about and to provide the player/modder with more choices to make.

of course, I don't really post much. I give occasional support to people having issues with new vegas or skyrim, and more so in the Muscle girl project mod, since I taken it on myself to help the author of that mod.

I'm sorry, but if you think hating the Nexus is what brought us together, you are seriously mistaken and perhaps you are the one who doesn't know this site as well as you claim. We have better things to do than concentrate on hatred, like creating adult mods for example, which I suspect is the reason about 99% of us are here. LL wasn't created because a bunch of angry dudes got kicked from the nexus, it was created because wolflore - the forum where the very first translation of the xLovers mod series was posted - banned 90% of the content from xLovers, because the new admins didn't like rape and stuff.

 

You see, that is why this site is called LOVERS Lab and not ANGRY BUNCH OF GUYS THAT HATE THE NEXUS Lab. Ashal made this site available mostly because he wanted to give the modders and translators that gathered at wolflore and later at Hongfire a new place to talk and share shiny things. I don't remember any drama at wolflore or Hongfire about the nexus, this shit only started when LL became more popular and more and more users came here.

Messaging a GM will either yield no results or a snotty reference to the TOS coupled with a passive-aggressive and implied "fuck off" placed somewhere in there when that GM does reply.

SOoooooooo dead on. I just asked a simple question on THAT SITE via the support ticket system, because I had received a warning...

 

My question was essentially this:

Why offer a drop down for Yes or No if an image contains adult content? (Which, I had some boobage showing in the image I was uploading...)

 

I was met with snotty reference to the TOS and asked if I'd read the box below...

 

Then I responded with a comment about why they'd offer the drop down for Adult Only content... to me Adult Only content means boobage, penii and vaj, not blood, gore and suggestive content... which isn't actually explained on the image upload page at all. So, in essence the box with the "nudity restriction" was conflicting with the drop down box...

 

And I also stated that if they reference the TOS, then maybe they should pay closer attention because just about all the top 100 mods on the nexus violate their own terms... i.e. sexual content.

 

Well, I never heard back from them. They're so Takei... especially with their "lovers lab" censorship... friggin' childish.

First of all, I am not your son, boy! I have been around since the morrowind days. And thank you for reminding me of the fantastic memories I have of wolflore. Although I preferred spellhold. Those were great times. Perhaps the best. Although wolflore is quite these days there are a few who keep the torch lit over there but it has been a few years since I last paid a visited. 

 

Regardless if you agree with me or not. It does not change things. Although it seems this place has changed a little. I am not here to argue. I am here to tell you that there are people who are doing something about the nexus problem. 

 

Unfortunately I let my hate of the nexus get the better of me and this thread was not the right place for what I was asked to announce. And about the nexus hate back in the early days there was nothing to hate back then. The other day we had an instance of the mods going delete-happy over on the Nexus. Cabbage in a Pot got mildly popular and a bunch of haters started hating and reported it to the mod because it was a "joke" mod and supposedly those aren't allowed, even though there have been several mods that were never deleted and were obviously joke mods. Then a petition to reinstate it was put up. To which I am surprised the OP didnt get a snotty reply and a ban for it.
