help it wont let my teen sim have sex with anyone except himself

I've already gone to the settings to enable teens being able to participate it still won't work. And everytime I click on objects to initiate sex it pops up w the "couldn't find appropriate sims to perform ... sex" thing.  This wasn't ever a problem before pls help.
