Presets

Saw a mod for extra followers and really like a couple of the faces. What would I need to do to make those faces presets for playable characters? Please keep in mind that my modding experience is very low, hehe.

Hey Rearshot! Sorry - I did notice this one earlier, but I forgot to come back to it! ;)

Making presets is easy, quick, and fun! It's a great task for beginners! Here's an excellent, beginner-friendly tutorial on how to do this with the CK:

"J-U-I-C-E HubPages Skyrim Tutorial - How to Make Your Skyrim Character Look Like Any Character in The Game!"

Now, there's a couple of things to remember (I just did this last night myself to make an .NPC file backup for a custom follower I'm working on, so it's nice & fresh!)...

 - When you load up your "Data", load up the .esp plugin for the follower mod you're getting the face from, but DON'T set it as an active file! Save your work as a new plugin. This will avoid dirtying the original follower mod.

 - Before you load the CK, go to ...\Skyrim\Data\Textures\actors\character\character assets and *TEMPORARILY* remove the "tintmasks" folder (copy it to the desktop as a backup while you work, just in case!). The CK does not handle all modded tintmasks (ie: makeup, warpaint, etc.) very well. Temporarily removing this folder will avoid a number of CK-related texture bugs like strangely-coloured foreheads, sqiggly coloured lines around the temples, etc.

Good Luck, and feel free to follow-up with any additional queries!  :)
