Some Sort Of Weird Belly Size Error

It took me a hot minute to notice this, but my character's actual body's belly is smaller than her outfit's belly. This normally would be totally unnoticeable as vanilla outfits have no bare midriffs, but I have some Devious Devices mods that include things like corsets and suit that show the belly, and while my character is wearing those outfits, there is a bizarre and visible gap between the outfit's "belly-shape" and her actual body. What should I do to solve this problem? Could this have been caused by me messing with the belly node of an item in a failed attempt to give it belly scaling? Either way, what can I do to fix this?

Did you build the meshes in BodySlide for all the outfits and the naked body itself, with the "Build Morphs" checkbox ticked?

Pretty sure I did, yes

Maybe the outfits weren't built with the same body as what you are using.

If so, you'd need to get (or make) conversions of the outfits in question.

To check is relatively easy though. You could load one such outfit in Outfit Studio and load in the body you are using via "File -> Import -> from Nif".

Then you can switch both bodies to wireframe mode (the eye symbol in the meshes window next to the mesh in question) and see if they look different.

If they are different, then it's what I said above, with them using different base bodyshapes.

If they are the same, maybe it's an issue with the weights... if it's not that either, I'm out of ideas.

I did a fresh reinstall of Skyim and all my mods, and the problem persists. I made sure everything I installed was for CBBE, which is the body I was using, so I don't know what's wrong either. I tried using your Outfit Studio comparison method but I can't find where the .nif files actually are in my Skyrim local files.

There are two locations.

"...\CalienteTools\BodySlide\ShapeData\CalienteBody" has the body files from which BodySlide makes the CBBE body meshes.

The one you probably want to check here is the CalienteBodyHDT.nif

"...\meshes\actors\character\character assets" is where the actual _0 and _1 meshes are located.

Here the femalebody_0 and_1.nif are the files in question. For loading into OS I'd use the _1

Okay but even if I get to this point and discover the wire frames are different, what exactly am I supposed to do about that?

Another theory I have is that maybe my outfits are scaling by NetImmerseOverride but my character’s body is scaling by Sexlab Inflation, and that’s what’s causing the difference in size and shape.

Considering that it's unlikely someone mistabled their conversions SexLab Inflation sounds like the more likely culprint. I am however unfamiliar with that mod, so I can't really help there.

Maybe someone in it's release thread can help with that.

If you discover that the wireframes do not match up, then that means you are either using something different than the default CBBE body or that the outfits are.

If it's the body, just make sure you get a "normal" CBBE body (or one that preserves the original shape and slider behaviour).

If it's the outfits, you could try to find conversions to the actual CBBE body or if push came to shove make your own conversions.
