Steps to safely update to June version?

What steps should I take to safely update to the latest June update, without losing mods etc?

 

Should I back up my safe, and move the mods and tray files to another folder, update, and then place then back? Will my current safe still work?

The steps you have already described, but i would also check if you have any mods that are now outdated, those can break the game.

verify all mods that contain .ts4script  extension.  You may not have to update them but CHECK to see if you do on the mod source.  Most other mods are a case by case basis.  Clothing and other stuff is very unlikely version dependant.  Mods that change gameplay may be affected by version changes (Check Maxis patch notes and Mod Source).

 

If find it works best for me if I make a list of mods that I need to verify with most Version Changes.
