aljustineg Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 i have already installed boss but it is target to the wrong folder of my skyrim in C so i deleted it then replace my folder to D from C then i cant start boss it always says skyrim esm cannot found i cant even start the Boss GUI need help
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Use the archive type if you can't install it with the installer type. Just drop into and verify if boss is properly installed/placed within "\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\" It should contain; API Folder - - boss32.dll - boss64.dll Docs Folder (Documentation) l10n Folder (Language) BOSS GUI.exe BOSS.exe BOSS.ini
aljustineg Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 The archieve files doesnt work but i try the install then point to \Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\ thanks for the help i have thought of this procedure LoL so i can use both NMM and BoSS or only one 1?
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 NMM is a mod manager that MANAGE which mod to install and whatnot while BOSS is a mod SORTER that will sort which mod will be placed on top and which will be bottom. It sort based on what the BOSS team has discovered about testing compatibility against another mods (I don't what they were testing about but they do the job really well ). In a simple word, you will get less CTD when playing Skyrim. NMM have a function to place load order but not sorting it right. So yeah, basically you can use both and I urge to use both as it will make your life less miserable when some problems arises.
aljustineg Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 i have a problem in my skyrim launcher i cant see any esm and esp on the skyrim data Tab its empty
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Open your SkyrimPrefs.ini located at "Documents\My Games\Skyrim\". Search for [Launcher]. Under [Launcher] tab, verify whether bEnableFileSelection was enabled; bEnableFileSelection=1 (*1=on, 0=off). If no line was there, make an entry under [Launcher] and type bEnableFileSelection=1. Save and Exit.
aljustineg Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 i can access my data tab in skyrim launcher but i didnt see any mod in the data tab the folder im using is the copy of the original folder i deleted when i use my original folder i didnt have any issue im my Data tab but sadly i already remove it from the recycle bin maybe its time to reinstall my skyrim
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 No need to reinstall, just remove the "SkyrimPrefs.ini" and "Skyrim.ini" from "Documents\My Games\Skyrim\". Then launch Skryrim. They will generate a new "SkyrimPrefs.ini" and "Skyrim.ini" in "Documents\My Games\Skyrim\". But the setting is all gone, and you can set it back from within Skyrim game.
aljustineg Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 still nothing i cant see any mod installed in the skyrim launcher data file tab thanks for you help though il just reinstall it maybe i messed up with the skyrim folder
aljustineg Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 can i ask about using QQQ in console for instant quit is this safe to use? i know this is a not related topic on this thread rather than posting another thread for this
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Yup, it's like alt+F4 I believe. But mostly my exit from Skyrim is from CTD's. Damned CTD...
