Household disappeared after v.155b update

I am not blaming anyone, all I'm saying is BACK UP your saves, your households and UPDATE WHICKEDWHIMS AS SOON AS AN UPDATE IS AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!!! And DO NOT SAVE if error/outdated mod notifications pop up as soon as you load a household.

I don't exactly know what caused this issue, but I'll try to explain.

I had whickedwhims version 155b. In game, while playing with Household A in Save A I got a notification saying that it was outdated, and 155c was out. I ignored it, planning on downloading it afterwards, I played, then saved and closed the game. I had done it many times and it had never caused problems before.

Then I created a new save, let's call it Save B and played with, let's say, Household B.

When I went back to Save A, Household A was gone. The name is there, but there's a blue flashing square instead of their picture, or it appears the pic of other random sims. I found out this is a known issue that outdated mods can cause.

The problem is that if you try to load said H.A in manage households, in CAS it pops up a random sim just like in a brand new CAS. The sims in my household are just completely gone. I am trying to load previous saves and to find my sims in my tray files, but nothing is working yet. If you research online, the majority of times people say there's no way to restore the household.

I had been playing that h. for roughly 5 years. I cannot express with words how upset I am but I'm not losing hope yet.

Again: I am not blaming anyone, all I'm saying is BACK UP your saves, your households and UPDATE WHICKEDWHIMS AS SOON AS AN UPDATE IS AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!!! And DO NOT SAVE if error/outdated mod notifications pop up as soon as you load a household.

Sorry, I'm not trying to second-guess you, but as someone who's fairly new to modded Sims 4, I don't really understand how backing up your saves would've helped in this situation. If the save is still there (it's just the household that's gone after you load the save), and loading previous saves doesn't get any better results, then how would having a redundant copy of the save file make a difference? Is there some kind of backup utility for Sims 4 that preserves a save in a more concrete way than just making another copy of the save file in Windows Explorer?
