Hey i am new to modding, i recently started trying to get my faces shiny/oiled (whatever you call it)

the body isn't that hard, because i have a separate body and separated textures for it,

let me list out what i have installed now:

I modified these nifs:

headhumanVRD.nif

HeadWoman.nif

HeadMan.nif

THESE FIRST 3 COME FROM AMNES'S MOD!

headhuman.nif (THIS COMES FROM THESE MOD FILES: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/42554 )

I use glossmax http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/41213 to modify hundreds of skin nifs to create the oily effect, which works really good! though, i can't get the faces to shine constantly,

so this is what happens:

All my mods are on except the MaleBodyReplacerV5.esp because this is already used by amnes beautiful characters.

In DMRA BBB Complete Clothing and Armor Replacer is a body included: DMRA tuned/seamles body.

When i am in my character creation screen at the start of the game this suddenly happened (i found out by accident).

I had the imperial race (also worked on woodelf and high elf).

the face skin first looks like this:

after changing the age and complexity to the left. then change the cheek round/gaunt completely to the left. THEN change the eyes to the right from brown to blue, and then i get THIS face texture?WTF!?

And after a reset face, everything changed back like i didn't want it to!

Can someone help me with this particular problem? so i can also change this WITHOUT using the mod amnes beautiful characters?

I tried so many things, but i can't get it to work, which mesh i need to configure to get the right effect like on the second picture continuously.

though i don't know which textures became involved, because i have textures of amnes beautiful characters itself, as from ozmo's HGEC skin textures. I also got his face textures. i don't know which mesh was responsible for this change either!

I have NO IDEA what i am doing wrong anymore! if someone can help me out with this i would be very happy!

I have succeeded. by combining 2 dds files from two different sources i maintained a nice oily effect on all of the vanilla races! except for orc, khajiit and argonian (though even the argonian looks litle more shining!). only thing is that the man have the same oily effect on the faces aswell, though i find this not disturbing, it feels more balenced anyways! maby if i find the right textures i will be able to let the guys shine too, so that there aren't any weird differences.

Here is a screenshot of one of my results ^^:

maby i can create great body/skin/face mods in the future ^^, like DMRA BBB conversions maby? or any stuff like that. but i have a lot too learn.

Good work solving this problem! I've read your post but couldn't think of any explanation for the weird effect you experienced.

Judging by your pictures you already seem to have facegen texturing deactivated in your ini? This makes the age maps display not as prominently anyway, so it's no big loss getting rid of them after all. Your character's neck seam is almost unnoticeable! That's about the best result achievable for the game, many races suffer from horrible skin colour differences there.
