polluxval Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 did you checked this mod?: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5622 also, i dont want to spoil the fun, but 3ds max is not exactly the best tool to use with skyrim. but im no expert here.
Dude500X Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Its the tool the mod requires. No other tool will work. Trying that file you gave me maybe that will be what I need.
Vioxsis Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Go here https://github.com/nexustheru/max_nif_plugin/downloads find the version of max you are using and download it. And unpack the NifPlugins.dlu to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\plugins
Dude500X Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 that tool seemed to work Poll. now I'm trying to figure out how to follow these instructions here. http://imageshack.us/a/img546/7847/hotfire.gif not even proper spelling.., does not tell me where to find anything.. this is frustrating as hell. video tutorial.. not even same UI as my 3ds max! and has no sound.
Dude500X Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Ugh i am giving up. its a shame because I was REALLY hoping to have vanilla conversions for ADEC.. if anyone else can manage to use this tool http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31469 to make a full set of vanilla and DLC armors for ADEC then I will try compensate them, im not a rich man but I'm willing to pay $25 NZD, which is about $21 or $22 american if someone can do this for me, its not ALOT of money I know but it should shout you a burger king or somethin.
Cyndi Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 /\ Very good Tutorial series for learning how to create/port armor with 3ds/nifskope done step by step with sound. I only mention it since you already dl'ed 3ds and it's a huge program. 3 to 4 gig I think.... I just hope you at least got the free student version so it didn't cost you anything, other than bandwidth etc. It doesn't cover that auto morpher tool, but might be useful as it covers all of the other tools you need when using max to get stuff into skyrim, where to get those things, how to install and then use them. It's actually much easier than you think, just tedious at times. Also that vid with no sound is terrible (from a new user stand point people more familiar with max can make out whats going on... sort of), doesn't even show what 3ds does to the bsalphashaderproperty on export, and how to fix it (depending on your max version and exporter plugin, but it's silly how common that issue happens). I think you'd be twice as frustrated if you had gotten it working, then tried it in skyrim and said "OMGWTFNAO!!!"... and probably more than once. Don't give up yet though, once you know what's what, it can be kind of fun. Edit: Looked at that instruction page.... and well you might be able to get that working okay, after watching some of that tutorial series I linked, or at least be able to make better sense of what the instructions are trying to say.
Dude500X Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 gonna watch that vid for sure. Im giving up at mo using that morphing tool.. its frustrating the hell out of me lol
Cyndi Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 gonna watch that vid for sure. Im giving up at mo using that morphing tool.. its frustrating the hell out of me lol It's actually a big long series of vids. You can watch them in sequence from his web page without as much youtube hassle. Iirc he has it linked in the description there. I think by 13/14 videos in, you can pretty much port stuff, and make a lot of stuff on your own too. Edit: What's really nice about the videos; is that a lot of the time, he shows what can and often will go wrong. Although a little tip: If you can't see the skeleton when you import something just start over, and import the skeleton on it's own first. Seems to work easier... at least for me anyway. Annnnndd.... ALWAYS SAVE before you try to export. 3ds likes to crash if it decides you did something silly, when it tries to export.
Dude500X Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 up to video 8 now, going to rewatch afew and do things over and over so it sticks. having a break now though, thanks for the link however, soon as I figure out this stuff.. well, IF I do then I might make a pet project to convert vanillas to ADEC in a lore friendly way. cant stand skimpy. edit: nvm, I just cant do this, everytime I try move the verticy things on hide over adec it just goes mental.
