homie T Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Hey I made that Jan mod actually, looks like the newest update broke the normal maps. Tomorrow i'll have a look at it to fix it. This is how it's supposed to look, without the pantyline.

I'd personally recommend sharing his mods with everyone who wants them or not giving him the free advertising. I'm completely against people selling mods, it can only serve to damage the entire modding community across every game long term. The only people who should profit off Capcom owned property is people at Capcom. Mods must always be non profit for this reason, the more people paying for mods the more lucretive it becomes for the game companies to swoop in and stop all free mods, it'll get to a point where different colored shirts will be a fee. Back to the hole I came from I guess. Just really felt like I needed to share how damaging selling modifications will be. Bethesda already tried the mod store, they tried too soon. companies are already monitoring the profitability of paid mods. I'm not blaming the guy entirely. Maybe he doesn't really follow what goes on in the industry... But as things stand what he is doing can't be a good thing.

This is where I'm generally standing too about paid mods in general - on the *other hand* and I've talked about this a lot here and elsewhere, you can basically already assume consent because it would be incredibly easy for the (copyright owning) companies to shut these things down, but with very few exceptions (allegedly Crystal Dynamics / Square for example) they do absolutely NOTHING. You know, that's kinda how consent works legally, they would to have to prove that they were absolutely incapable of knowledge about these things going on for years, and also explain why they didn't do anything for so long (especially TECMO comes to mind who's assets seem to have been ported, lol I mean "modded" into nearly every game in existence...) *shrugs* Also OT, yeah it's a bit sad, I'd love to play Resistance (0 interest in the main game funnily enough) but without good mods it's certainly not worth it in my opinion - I know Z ali a bit, he's a cool guy, but like many other "paid mods" these look frankly, terrible and grotesque... So, meh, I don't see it happening, game is too unpopular.
