Possible to turn a follower mod into a playable character?

Just wondering if it's possible, or an easy process if you have a follower mod which contains the files for that follower to turn it into perhaps a preset or something like that? So that you can play that character yourself?

It used to be possible in Oblivion, via Wyre Bash and visa-versa, not sure about Skyrim though, haven't really used Wyre Bash too much with it.

You don't understand. He wants his character to look like a custom follower someone made.

I think it would require editing the savegame but I have no idea how to do that.
