BLACKHEART3297 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 I have been modding skyrim for a couple of years now. But ive been any from my PC for a long while so i believe i have become rusty on some things. I have had this crashing problem before and every time i have been able to easily fix it. but i have tried all the methods i know about or at least the ones i remember. and yes i have a lot of freaky adult mods from here. im using vortex for my 260 mods i have LOOT and FNIS and no issues on it, no files are conflicting. no missing master files no errors on LOOT. and still crashes HELP!!
xwhiteninjax Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 if you have realy 260 mods/plugins "activated" (.bsa, .esm, .esp) than you have your answer... max is 255. For a stable skyrim you want to merge some mods and have the sum around 200 activated ones, so it is easy to test something new, have a nice fallback and so on

xwhiteninjax Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 go for merging utilities... like "merge plugins" standalone-version... this utility will tell you all needed tools, guide you through the merging-process (and is able to save your settings), so the next mergings will run more or less on auto... but look always to the logfile for this utility (if the loadorder tells you, there are failures, respect them, change your loadorder and do your merges always with a clean logfile). And I do know nothing about "Vortex", using Mod Organizer which works even on LE with the latest 1.4x version and Mod Organizer 2.x will work with skyrim-64bit and "merge plugins", also

Disposable55645 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Are you crashing when you load a save game or before you reach the menu? If it's the former, then there are three things you can try: 1/ FNIS: make sure you use the latest version and, possibly, switch to FNIS_XXL. 2/ (related to the first one): if you have alot of animation, install https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/100672 3/ Try creating a new game instead of loading an existing one. It you can get into the game, load your save game: if there are too many scripts running, Skirim with tends to CTD. Loading a clean same (with little or no script running) before you load your save game can reduce that script load and allow you to get into the game.
