angevil Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 In nonmodded oblivion i got 60 fps almost everywhere, but after i installed many mods, especially Better cities and unique landscapes (exterior fps drop) and all natural real lights (interior fps drop), i tried to squeeze all fps i can get, since i like to get 60 fps as much as possible. First thing to do is to unpack the meshes BSA, and after that delete the original meshes BSA. Then delete all *.tri files in the folder Data/meshes/characters. If you delete the *.tri files without deleting the meshes BSA, then the meshes from the BSA will be used instead, changing nothing. You also should make sure that the meshes that are in the folder already, which most likely come from mods, and change the vanilla ones, like all face and body mods, and qarls meshes, are not overwritten, otherwise you will need to reinstall all the mods that ovewrite vanilla meshes. The way i did it is that i unpacked all vanilla BSAs, then copied/overwrote with the unpacked BSAs from mods, and then copied/overwritten everything with all mods that use loose files. I got an improvement everywhere NPCs are shown, including my own character in 3rd person view. To give an example, inside all mages guilds i was having around 30 fps because of multiple NPCs displayed, while now it is 60 with 6 NPCs at the same time on the screen. Here are screenshots, fps is the last field on bottom right: Before 30.3 fps http://imageshack.us/f/822/20130215033031oblivion.png/ After 59.8 fps (capped by vsync) http://imageshack.us/f/248/20130215032023oblivion.png/ To be clear, this disables all facial animations, NPCS including player will never make facial expressions or move their lips. Please don't rush into deleting tri files without a game data backup, or without knowing what you are doing.
LordBolton Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 get The Nearly Perfect Frame Rate FPS Optimizer, Oblivion Stutter remover (tweaker the setting) and Streamline(The Latest beta version)get them working together, I'm running smoothly.
