Amorous Adventures. Lover no longer following.

I'm not sure what's going wrong here but when I complete a quest in Amorous Adventures and go to seal the deal, the NPC just walks off and I get a notification that says, "your lover is no longer following you." I'm not sure why nothing initiates. I have all of the required mods installed and can get animations to work from SexLab if I use the debug spell in game. Any help would be appreciated because I'm at a loss.  I had Amorous Adventures working perfectly fine on the original Skyrim but lately Ive been modding the Special Edition. Really hoping I can get this mod up and running properly.  Again, everything else in the quests work, just not the initiation of the proper animations at the end.
