brown66 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 [Sorry my English. It's not my native language.] I'm looking for someone who is playing Skyrim LE with VorpX and a RTX 2080ti graphics card. I use a GTX 1080ti and I would like to known how many frames increase it's possible to achieve upgrading to a RTX 2080ti. I'm using the resolution 2240x1680 and the sharpness is set to maxime. I didn't change the other settings.
brown66 Posted May 20, 2021 Author Posted May 20, 2021 Well... I will reply to my own answer!? I didn't say in my previous post, but the processor that I use back then it was a Ryzen 5 1600X. About 6 months later, I upgraded it to an i7-10700k and my FPS increased so much that it was like a graphic card upgrade! In one place (outside Whiterun gates, looking to the mountains on the left, where I got about 17FPS, it increased to about 26-28FPS). Definitively, the old AMD processors, with their bad draw calls performance, are not good at all to play Skyrim. On November past, I could get my hands on a RTX 3090, before the prices get crazy, and that was the really upgrade on the graphics resolution (but not so big as you might expect). So, if anyone there is in the same boat - playing Skyrim on VR with Vorpx - unfortunately, the answer to the best possible image is the fasted CPU and the most power graphics card you can buy! Currently, I'm playing Skyrim on my old HTC Vive Pro, with the 2560x1920 resolution and the antialiasing shut off for better FPS performance (I used before the 2240x1680 resolution, with the Ryzen 5 1600X and the GTX 1080Ti, but with a very bad performance on some places - about 17FPS and, in rare places, it even drops momently at 14FPS!). If anyone, who plays Skyrim with the Vorpx, buy the Vive Pro 2 that it will be released on June this year, please!!!, let me know how good it is, specially if your previous VR headset it was the Vive Pro!
