Hi

the title is pretty self explanatory but to go into more detail when im going around skyrim every 30 seconds or so the game will freeze almost as if it was loading (ie like in oblivion) and its just so breaking for not only the immersion but also game breaking

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution #1  - Ati user

" Sorry can't do nvidia because i  dont put the hardware on my pc yet"

Launch Catalyst control and set this setting

- Disable overclock

- Disable Vysnc

Anti aliasing Setting

Anti Aliasing  override application setting

Anti aliasing   samples none

filter wide tent

morphological  filtering off

Texture Filtering

anisotropic filtering  Mode  override application setting

anisotropic filtering  level 2x

texture filtering Quality High quality (for good pcu ) ,  Standard ( for normal mip maps)

surface format optimization On

Solution 2  -  Steam , Boss and You

1.  launch boss application and resort all the load order

2. Launch steam verify integrity

3. Go to games library and launch launcher wait the mods synchronize if you have steam mods

4. exit

5. launch skyrim launcher without steam set the shadow to low and use ( Low end , shadow tweaking

instead) that would get rid of the random freeze

that's how i fix mine sorry for the long tutorial just incase if you need few pointers :)

Can't use nvidia catalyst control center because I don't have it :(.

What I have tried with steam (im pretty useless on steam so sorry :s) is this:

"Verifying the integrity of the local game cache", Launching skyrim with both skse and steam, Exiting steam and coming back on.
I have no mods I downloaded directly from steam :(.

I think it might be worth noting that I only got this problem after re downloading all my skyrim stuff again, Except the main skyrim data (dlc included) I just copied from another copy I made when the main game and the dlc had finished downloading then I just piled what mods I wanted to top of them.

if there is any other info I can provide to help let me know and I will get back asap.

Okay downloaded ccc and tried what you said, Didn't work :( also I get ctd'd now :( I don't know what to do.

I just want to play skyrim with the mods and dlc is that to much to ask >.<

then it could be one of the mods because thats how i fix my ctd either way it must be either your load order or the mod itself.

I've had that exact same problem a lot...the main cause for me: Corrupted save!

If I kept using a certain save, the game would freeze (with music still playing, the only thing to do then was to use the task manager and close skyrim manually) Only fix I found was use a clean save I had from earlier and the game would work normally after that without any freeze.

If your problem with the game is a freezing video output together with stuttering sound it might be necessary to use your graphics driver to take over the vsync. The game engine has some problems with vsync resulting in an overload. To fix this you must edit following line in your skyrim_prefs.ini (in Documents\My Games\Skyrim)

iPresentInterval=1  <- changing this value to 0 disables vsync for skyrim

Using only the display driver options from CCC or nvidia control center to change vsync settings may result in a lot of ctd´s, at least it did for me.

Currently I´m running Skyrim with ini-deactivated vsync and nvidia control center-activated vsync, no more stuttering, no ctd´s

Okay here is what I will try: I will uninstall skyrim and all mods, Then re download skyrim with the dlc and make a clean save, should get no ctd's or freezes, if that goes as planned I will download and install the mods again and go from there.
I will post results later.

my ini?
I have finished downloading skyrim and got all the mods, started a new save and whatever was causing the problem is fixed now :D.
Now I can go on to modding more and finally make my way to the dragonborn dlc D:
