kmaaier Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Maybe I ask for something stupid or unwanted, but according to the answer on the question of this topic it should be possible to download LL mods with Vortex. In my opinion also with description and with message whet there is an update. It seems a feature which I would like. Are there more people who likes this? And are there people who can develop and implement this?
̖̪. Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 I think no one is stupid enough to waste his time for Vortex and LL communication... But somehow there is some stupid enough ppl to use Vortex now Open your Skyrim Data folder and search for files named: "Vortex" how many of them do you have?... 10.000 ? maybe 20.000 ? or even 40.000 ? and now search for files named: "ReadMe" How many of them do you have?... probably a lot too :)... You can learn to install mods manualy or USE MO ( MOD ORGANIZER ) Once you download file from ANY website click BIG HUGE BLACK... no actually green "+" button on left top corner and pick ZIP file with mod MO is only one Mod Mannager ppl should use NMM and Vortex are same worthless shit...

This still doesn't address the problem of not knowing when mods have been updated. And if among your dozens and hundreds of installed mods you have say 50+ that are still being updated periodically, checking all of them manually is quite difficult. Thus, some means by which for mod authors to push out mod updates, or at least push out update notifications, would be nice, whether it works with MO2 or Vortex or whatever mod management program. As it is right now, I can follow the download page for a mod, but if that mod stops being updated because the sequel came out, or any other reason for a mod to move to a new page, I have no idea that has happened. Ideally, an author could choose to send out an update to members following another of the author's mods for cases in which one mod updating affects other mods/when a new download page has been made because the mod was heavily changed/a sequel to another mod is made/etc. And if LL added an API to allow MO2/Vortex to check for updates the same way the Nexus does (because MO2 and Vortex use the same update check API; you can't allow one without the other), then that would be even better.
