need compatible hand mesh for unp

So, basically, I got an issue with unp. I'm not sure if it's skeleton, if it's my body edit, or if it's the hand themselves [my hunch is on the hands] but for some reason, the hands aren't matching with the unp model. As in, it's not a texture mismatch, it's a gap between the hand and the body models. Mostly, a size mismatch.

I've made sure my models still use the same vertex positions as unp in the whirsts, but I was still getting the gaps. When I tried the unaltered unp body itself, the same gap was there - EVEN WITH THE PROVIDED HANDS.

 

So, am I missing something? is there some sort of model that I missed? is the skeleton or animations interfering with anything?

I'm -making- a custom race, the femboy/trap race. I got over that pretty fast, actually. Not sure why, but the game wasn't recognizing the hand models properly, and kept using vanilla meshes, it seems.
