Help: Skimpy Thieves Guild Armor Not Displaying Correctly

Recommended Posts

So I'm playing on SSE with SOS installed and currently the skimpy thieves guild armor I have is bugged for males and won't display correctly, as you can see here: https://imgur.com/a/kvxb0Uw (The female version is completely fine, by the way.) There is simply no model for the armor when worn by NPCs, but when worn by the player it becomes a model with a broken texture.

However, I have the same mods on my Oldrim and it works just fine: https://imgur.com/a/Zf9gNcJ

The mods I'm using for skimpy male clothing are these:

Both mods are from Oldrim, but I easily ported them over to SSE using the Creation Kit. At first, I thought the problem was a result of the two armor mods conflicting, but I took a further look into it and it looks like only the first mod contains a mesh file for thieves guild armor. So it's probably something that's wrong with the mesh file or the .esp of the first mod? I can't seem to locate the original post of said mod, and I'm not sure I'm allowed to repost the file here...

I don't know a thing about how to fix something like this; I tried playing around with the mod in the CK but I have no idea what I'm doing on there. Is it possible anyone could direct me on what to do next, or perhaps create a patch for it? I'd really just like to continue playing my skimpy skyrim game without this bug ruining it.

Uhh...pardon but what do you mean by that? How/where would I do that?

Have you tried to reapply the textures?

Try these steps with all parts of the armor

  Reveal hidden contents

Thanks for the very handy guide! I really thought this would work, but unfortunately I tried a bunch of different times but it's still showing up exactly the same. I did manage to remove the model altogether, so that at least instead of bugged armor I have invisible armor, but that's more of a psuedo-fix at the moment. Do you have any idea what else I could try?

A problem like this happens to me if I use SMP, I don't have the correct reading of the textures. Is this perhaps an SMP?
Are the textures in question from SSE or did you apply those from Oldrim?
If so, then it's the wrong textures and the game doesn't recognize them.
A possible solution would be to try using another type of textures to see if the problem persists

Hmm...well I'm not using an SMP, and the actual mesh file itself is from Oldrim but I'm actually trying to use some textures from an HD Thieves Guild Armor mod for SE. Well, I'll keep playing around with the program you gave me and if it doesn't work then that's fine. I actually realized that with the Bandolier mod on, my character doesn't look so bad naked. :)

Thank you so much for your help!

I know that this is an old post, but do you remember how you did this? I'm running into the same issue and, while a proper fix would be nice, I would much rather have the armor show me as naked rather than have it be all glitchy-looking
