Keyboard Warrior Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 So, I'm playing Skyrim on an old craptop. It's under the minimum requirements by a small bit, but I'm able to run skyrim on all low (Textures @ medium) w/ a low res tex pack, a FEW HD mods (Namely, clothing and such), and TESVAL. Â Sadly, I can't STAND Medium textures. They look ALRIGHT, but the NPC's and their clothing is disgusting. I'm hoping for someone to be able to link me to a mod that makes landscape, misc items- pretty much anything that isn't an NPC or weapon, low res. Very low res, that way I can actually play the game without super-stuttering. Â Thanks for reading!
Guest Plastrader Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Its not your computers fault. Its Skyrim running in DX9 mode because of the consoles... Â you can try this mod HiAlgoBoost FPS Performance Accelerator 2 Â That should allow for higher graphic settings, or atleast it claims to. I think I saw a performance boost, but I'm not sure until I've tested it thoroughly with Fraps When or if you're satisfied. To remove the icon the developer put in the upper right corner. (From the comments) - Reminder: you can modify HiAlgoBoost.ini during the game' date=' and then reload it by pressing Shift + Backspace. Â - Another reminder: after you are sure HiAlgoBoost is starting reliably, you can turn off HiAlgo popup and HiAlgo logo, if you want - by editing HiAlgoBoost.ini: SHOW_HIALGOBOOST_POPUP_ON_START = false HIALGO_LOGO_OPACITY = 0[/quote']

I start Skyrim with SKSE, the box pops up, and when I click OK- My mouse goes to the 'loading' icon, and about 15 seconds later, 'SKYRIM HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE'. I'd LOVE to use that, but I can't. Dx
Guest Plastrader Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hmm... Have you tried without SKSE? What does your system logs say, if anything? Â It would ofc been preffered if Skyrim wrote its own logs when it crashes, but there are reasons to it not doing so...
Keyboard Warrior Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Hmm, let me test it without SKSE...
Keyboard Warrior Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Yup, even if I disable EVERYTHING but Skyrim.ESM, and start with TESV, It does NOT Work. *Sigh*.
polluxval Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 also, try removing shadows. Â http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29238 Â http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28181
Keyboard Warrior Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 I've already removed the shadows completely. Dx
Guest Plastrader Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Well, perhaps its time to reinstall Skyrim then :/ Part from that I'm out of ideas, sorry.
Guest Lady Luck Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 i have no idea what you talking about on this forum are you talking about perfomance related?
