duckmanlolhere Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Use custom follower files to create custom race Is this possible? Is one able to create a custom race, or modify an existing one, to use the body and face of a custom follower? If so, how is this done (does anything extra need to be done for clothing aswell?) (Race A looks like Custom Follower B for example / race N is created by using the body and face of Custom follower B)
freddark Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Most people create a custom race for their follower serving no particular purpose. However, sometimes a custom race is required because it has special attributes, and/or the face model is custom/imported. If you are on Oldrim, you can Nifmerge the custom face model to any npc in your own plugin. Before you do this though, take a look at the plugin of the custom follower in the CK. If there are any custom tri and/or nif files for the eyes, hair, head, mouth, etc, then you really need a custom race made before the merge. In this case take some screenshots of the CK "pages" to help reference how everything is done. Set up the custom race, npc headparts, and npc form exactly as in the original plugin. Afterwards you can Nifmerge. Of course you will need to have all custom files in your data folder. Happy modding.
