needsomemods Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 There are some great mods like Temptress mod, girls of skyrim, and fabulous followers. Is there a way to use my own body styles (cbbe, unp, etc.) and use it for those faces? And is there a way to add these characters as a playable character for the fabulous followers?
Gawdzila Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Okay, if I read you right, you're asking two different things. 1) You want to know if you can use a body mod (CBBE, UNP, etc.) for a character added by another mod 2) You want to use the faces of one or more of those characters as a preset so you can make a PC that looks like them? The answer is yes to both of those. 1) If you want a follower added by a mod to use a CBBE body, you shouldn't have to do anything. They should just use the body if you have it installed. The exception is if the follower has its own custom race which uses a different body, in which case you just need to find what folder the body is in and overwrite it with CBBE or UNP or whatever. Be sure to switch the textures too. 2) In order to use an NPCs face for yourself, you'll need to use the Creation Kit, so install it if you don't have it already. It can be downloaded for free from Bethesda, it isn't large. - Open it up, go File -> Data and select the mod with the NPC you want to copy, along with all the master files it needs. You can either set the mod's .esp as "Active", in which case you'll be modifying the mod itself, or not, in which case you'll be prompted to save this as a new plugin which you'll have to load in order to select your new preset. - On the left side Open the Actors>Actor tree, click "Actor", and find the NPC on the list (sorting by name can help). Double-click the record to open the window. - On the very first tab, check the box next to "Is CharGen Face Preset". Make a note of the race and click OK to close. - Under the Character tree click "Race". Find the race that you'll be playing and double-click to open up the record. Go to the very last tab called "Presets", and make sure the correct Male/Female radio button is selected, and keep the window open. - Now go back to Actors>Actor, open up "Presets", and click on the race of the NPC you're copying. You should see the name of the NPC listed as one of the presets: drag and drop it into the Presets window of the Race you have open. Click OK on the Race window to close. - File -> Save. You'll either be overwriting the .esp of the mod or saving a new one, depending on if you set the mod's .esp to active or not. Whichever you did, make sure that .esp is loaded when you run the game and you should be able to select that face as a preset under whichever race you added it to. Good luck!
