Weird first stage in animations since beta 8

I had beta 7 and the upgrade installed, and everything worked fine.  Then I uninstalled both and just installed the single beta 8 mod.  Since then, when sex begins, the camera moves around and then my character is positioned all wrong, usually at a 90 degree angle from where she should be.  When the second stage kicks in, everything is back to normal.  

 

I know I can press "[" to reset the first stage, and that works, but is there some setting I have wrong, or something I can do to fix this?
