!!0.MAI_LINGERIE_3_3.TMCL!!0.MAI_LINGERIE_3_3.TMC!!0.MAI_LINGERIE_3_3.--P!!0.MAI_LINGERIE_3_3.---C Can someone fix it please? Steam DOA5LR v1.10C. Using autolink.

I heard Mai has a weight limit in textures, the .TMCL file must be under 6.7 MB but i don't know how to make file size smaller. Is there any tutorial? if no please teach me how to do it.

This applies not only to Mai, all characters have such a limit, it is just that Mai has the lowest threshold. By the way, in the old versions of DOA5LR all these mods work fine, you can check.

use the texture tool to extract the textures, then use other program(photoshop,paint.NET, GIMP, etc.) to edit the textures, then again, use texture tool to insert the textures

problem is i don't know what to do with extracted file? i don't even know how to work on paint.Net and etc because i never used them before. For you it may super easy but it's hard for clueless people. Can you write step by step guide? Maybe this could help future people. :)

and what?, try to make your own tests with the tools, test the functions, remember, try and error, or just google the damn thing if you don't know how to change colors to any picture you've loaded, do you think that everyone were born knowing how this tool works?

BTW

pain.NET is the easiest tool to use, and you'll need to search and install the .DDS plug in to import and export this type of file, which is the one that the game uses in the models, yeah, you have to google this too.

This is a nice mod, did you do it yourself?

I've replaced the wet body texture for a smaller size one. This should do the trick.

I'm happy to share with you this kind of mods if you help me to fix them. :)

Editing textures for DOA5LR game models is actually not that difficult.

First you need tools to extract and insert textures in the models.

LR Photo Studio is the easiest one to use, due to having a graphic interface, but it has limitations, so I would advise you to get the TMC Texture Tool also.

Then you need a program to edit and manipulate the textures in .dds format. I do use Gimp, as it’s free and easy to use, but it needs a plug-in to be able to import and export the .dds files.

Once you have the tools in your computer, open the .TMC file with LRPS (LR Photo Studio).

Right click in the body mesh (the skin of the character), and chose “Texture viewer”.

The next screen will show you the textures for that mesh.

In the left upper corner there is a drop down menu with the four textures associated to the body, being a black one for dirty effects, and a white one for wet effects.

You chose the one you want to extract, it will show you in the screen, and in the right upper corner there is the Extract button.

Quite simple, so once the texture is extracted, just open in Gimp and change it.

To reduce the size of the texture in Gimp, go Image > Scale Image. Then select percentage scale option and reduce in a percentage you think will be enough to drop down its size.

Then go File > Export As, change the file name (so you don’t lose the old texture), click export.

Another screen will pop up. Select the Compression to be the same of the original texture (this information can be seen in the bottom of the "Texture viewer" screen from LRPS. Also select Mipmaps option to Generate mipmaps, and click ok.

Now that your texture is saved, you can inject in the model.

Back at the Texture viewer screen from LRPS, make sure you have the texture you want to replace selected and showing in this screen. Click in the Swap button at the right upper corner and the Swap texture screen will pop up. Drag and drop the new texture in the “Input DDS file” box.

Click save.

LRPS will save you model with a new name automatically, but keep always a backup of your original files.

If you want to go deeper in texture editing, the TMC Texture Tool is a good one too.

I use it to remove unused textures from models. Just open the model, right click in the texture. If the delete option is available, it means the texture is not being used and can be deleted.

Let me know if this helps you to get started in modding.
