Guest Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 I mean REAL camera-porn. That is, "porn about cameras", also known as the "Customizable Camera"-mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12201/ Unless this community only consists of tweakers and screenarchers, there must be at least some people who actually play the game. And you can't play this game with the awful vanilla 3rd-person cam. So unless everyone just plays 1st-person only, you must've done something about your 3rd-person cam experience. I wanna see what you came up with. "Customizable Camera" might be the most popular mod for that, but i'm aware of a handful alternatives. So if you use something else, please feel free to post your settings and screenies of that. My CC-setup... Standard Camera: ----------------- X = -25, Y = 0 Min Distance = 32 Max Distance = 96 My standard cam is a literal "over-the-shoulder"-cam. To me this strikes a good compromise between immersion (especially combined with headtracking), and the clear view of a first-person cam. Noteworthy: I could only get this to work without clipping, by reducing fNearDistance from 15 to 12. Depending on your hardware, drivers and distant-LOD, lowering fNearDistance might not work on your system without introducing distant LOD flicker. On my setup it worked. Also, the NoCamColl-mod is basically a requirement for settings like these, but you probably already know that. Vanity Cam ("View Mode" on CC "Features"-tab): ------------------------------------------- X = 0, Y = -35 Distance = 200 If i want to see my current outfit, i switch view to this cam. Unlike the standard-cam, it centers my char in the middle, and zooms out just enough to see everything head-to-toe. Melee-Cam: ---------- X = -10, Y = 12 Distance = -40 Brings the char closer to the center for proper aiming, and raises the cam for a proper view ahead, but not too much to lose sight of my char's pose and orientation. To me, the problem with melee cams raised too high is... it kinda feels like losing hand-to-eye coordination: I lose awareness of how my character is positioned towards the enemy. On the other hand, a too low melee cam obscures the enemy positioning. The above setting is the best compromise i could come up with for my personal taste. Ranged Cam: ----------- X = 26, Y = 3 Distance = -5 This one is tricky, because at least on my version of Customizable Cam, you can only move the cam so much to the side, before aiming becomes inaccurate. This is the furthest i could move it, while still being good enough for quick closerange shots. Long-range shots i do in first-person anyways, so that's no concern. But what about midrange? Sneak Cam: ---------- Adaptive Sneakheight = 25 I do 'em in sneak-mode obviously, to get those damage-multipliers. In my animset that also changes the bow to being held horizontally. Combined with the crouched pose, that means plenty of space above the chars head, for perfect aiming.
spatenkiller Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 I love this mod man it transforms the game so much... too bad if you go crazy with the vertical settings its very hard to play with the bow, i´d love to play as a archer with the cross hair around the height of the hip but ohh well
