Can't change hair or eyes of custom race

Hey all.

So, last time I played Skyrim a couple of months ago, I installed a new race called Yami Neko. I remember having this issue back then as well, but this time I can't for the life of me find the solution I found at that time, and my patience is running incredibly thin, so I figured I'd post about it here, sleep my irritation off and see if someone brighter or more knowledgeable than me knows of a solution.

So the problem is this: I can't change hair or eyes. Eye shape works, hair color works, but I can't change the hair style or the eye color. It works fine for every other race, such as Nord, Khajiit, Breton et.c., as well as for my other installed custom race; the half dragon race. I know that what the race technically is is the khajiit body mixed with the nord head, but how this is done I don't know. I've tried switching over to the nord race, performed the changes I want there, and then switch back, but that resets all of my changes again, even when loading in presets and importing heads through the sculpting feature in RaceMenu, both tactics that I'm pretty sure was part of the original solution I did last time. I even tried going back to my old save where I did fix it, save that preset, start a new game and loading that preset, but it still doesn't work.

I am at a loss as to what I should and/or could do, and googling and tearing through nexus and reddit threads have proven utterly fruitless (despite knowing that's how I got to a solution last time). So please, if anyone knows how to fix this, or at least get to workaround going, do share. I would love you a long time for it. I just want to restart my own character with a different build path and using my new mods, but this damn cat refuses to look like she's supposed to.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Might be worth mentioning, if it wasn't obvious, I never actually "fixed" it last time, I just found a way around it. Would love to find that detour again, or even better: a solution. Workaround is good enough for me though.

If you have a specific one you want to change to, you could try using Creation Kit to change the hair and eyes.

If you want to be able to edit it in RaceMenu try sorting your load order like this:
