Sexlab expressions not working automatically

I've researched this online but not found a solution. Can anyone point me to a fix? 

 

I have SSE, the latest Sexlab, SKSE and tried it with both MFG and opparco mfg enabled and with just one of them. Expressions don't change at stages. I can apply as the test function and they work during an scene but stay at what ever I apply till the end of the scene, regardless of stage. They also only work on my character and not the NPC. Anyone have a solution or guidance? thx for any suggestions.

I know...old thread and what not but for those looking for this in the future, I wanted to suggest some things that could potentially fix this problem.  First is simply entering racemenu and change the player expression to ensure that expressions actually do work, save character and reload your character, this fixed this issue for me with not just sexlab expressions but expressions in general. Secondly typing "mfg reset" in console might work but this seems to be more of a fix for specifically stuck expressions on character faces. Thirdly a method I saw on another forum was doing a "recycleactor" on the player character.
