Safety Tip for Sexout NV - Masturbate often!

Experience from having sexout break many times on me and how I fixed it.

 

1. Install CASM or at least manually save often and always to a different save spot, especially right before engaging in sex

2. Use the masturbation hotkey often (Default: Y or Z on QWERTZ), especially after having sex. Especially especially after scripted sex from a mod. ESPECIALLY if something weird happened like the partner disappearing.

The reason is: if it stops working, just does nothing, Sexout is borked. If it works, Sexout is probably still ok.

3. If masturbation does not work, sexout is broken. immediately reload an older save where masturbation still worked, then try one of the following:

• If the save is in the same cell the broken sex happened, leave the cell and enter again before you try anew
• Just try again - most often it worked for me after several tries
• Try restarting the game (if you have CASM, remember to load the correct save, it may have made one post-break)
• If there is an actor initiating conversation during/at the end of sex, and the conversation is before you fully got up again, try changing your sex time in sexout general settings. Start with longer values (like 30 secs), so the actor arriving does not coincede with the sex finishing - the actor should wait for you then. You can also try low values so the sex is fully finished before the actor approaches.
• Turn off spunk shaders (Unconfirmed, but may help)

 

Even if masturbation works, some NPC may break, but then you can just no longer enact sexy times with them and them alone. Guess only fix is to reload a save where it still worked.

Unconfirmed note for this: open console, target character (click so name appears at the top) and write "inv". then use "removeitem xxx" for all sexout related items.
