alain31 Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Hello, racemenu sse takes the faceoverlay support now. the problem is that i use skse version 2.16, skyrim 1.5.62. I have lots of mods from loverslab for example that are not up to date with the latest update. is there a way to edit the racemenu dll file so that it is compatible with my version? i have apropos 2 and the overlay face is very interesting for that. thanks.

So you'll either have constant little bugs or your port will be obsolete after a couple of days if expired releases a new version with improvements/fixes. 35 minutes ago, alain31 said: the problem is that i use skse version 2.16, skyrim 1.5.62. SKSE 2.16 doesn't exist. Current release is 2.0.16 and the SKSE version for Skyrim SE 1.5.62 is 2.0.11. 35 minutes ago, alain31 said: I have lots of mods from loverslab for example that are not up to date with the latest update. Which mods? Most mods shouldn't need to be updated after a game/skse update. 35 minutes ago, alain31 said: is there a way to edit the racemenu dll file so that it is compatible with my version? I've seen a couple of people doing it to offer support to mods no longer updated by the authors. But in most cases its done directly by the author. So unless you want to do something like this you'll be relying on expired to do the work for you.

leighn Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Hello ! I'm looking for the same solution. Make the last version of Racemenu (with face overlays support) compatible with old version (1.5.62, 1.5.73 ...) Thanks

If it's just a table of pointers that's the problem, i have to wonder if it wouldn't be possible to externalize those pointers into an ini-file, and load them at runtime. Don't know if this would affect speed too much, since then every interaction with SSE could no longer be baked into the code. If it were possible without a severe performance hit, that would however solve all the problems with SKSE updates, because the SKSE-team could just distribute that table with their releases, and other plugins could read it - no more recompiling, unless actual features are added to SKSE or bugs fixed.
