Custom Music

Hello.

Maybe this is a bit silly, but I have never managed to make the presonalized music that you put inside the folder '' Alternative '', sound good on the radio or headphones of the game. I mean ... that the music is heard (mp3 file) but at a very low level, while the vanilla music of the game is very loudly. So, is there any suitable configuration for the audio file to have the same level of sound that the vanilla songs have?

Hmmm... I've noticed its just how this game is. It likes to play custom music kinda quiet. Sims 3 had this issue too, but in Sims 3 you could upgrade your speakers to "wire speakers to house," which fixed the issue pretty well. Sadly that isn't an option in Sims 4. I love listening to music so having my Custom music play at a good volume is really important to me.

All that said, here are some things you could check. Are your MP3's amped to a good volume under normal circumstances? Like do they play at a nice volume on your PC through a media player. Some of my songs were just low volume songs, so I amped them louder through Audacity.

You can also try this mod for increased stereo volume. Some claim its broken, but I use it in my game and I believe it helps some.

Another thing I recommend is you should stay away from the residential or community wall speakers as they are just stupidly quiet in-game. Any of the home stereos are a good option. Seems like they play music at a better volume than the wall speakers. And it maybe obvious, but be sure to have their volume set to high.

You could turn "Loudness Equalization" on in your computer's speaker settings. I do this sometimes when playing Sims 4 and sometimes other games. It makes all sound on your PC change to have loud noises quieter and quiet noises louder.

And lastly you can just turn down all the other volumes in the options menu and just keep "object music" at a higher level than everything else. I generally keep the game's menu music muted majority of time since I play my own music for CAS or build mode and use custom music for gameplay.

Hope some of this information helps you out.

Oh yep. All the songs I use have a good volume or there are even some very loud ones under normal circumstances, but in the game their volume is very low.

Okay. I will check the Mod. Thanks.

Yep. It is quite annoying, sometimes I have even made a playlist and let it be repeated in Windows Media Player in the Desktop to listen to my own music instead of using the option of the personal radio of the game, although that consumes some frames.

I have modified the sounds of other games, such as Skyrim adding even my own voice to my main character, and I have never had problems with low audio doing that, even with low sound mp3 files under normal circumstances as those sound files adapt to the sound of the whole game in general, at the same level. It seems that in fact it is a '' characteristic '' of The Sims games. A bad characteristic, of course.

Thanks by the tips.
