Saving ESP in CK causes follower to lose custom voice

I'm working with the Kaidan 2 follower on Nexus. I'm attempting to change the name, hair and skin tone through CK.  

I've completed the changes I want, and the looks appear correctly in Skyrim, but Kaidan loses his custom voice.

 

I then went and tried different combinations of making a change in the CK and saving the ESP and each time it would cause him to lose his custom voice.

I've tried just skin tone, just character trains, just short name, etc.

 

I have found that I've been able to change traits and name through SSEdit and that works fine where the name/traits change and the voice doesn't get removed.

 

I only have like Alternative Start and Kaidan 2 enabled. I have CK fixes installed

 

I've also tried to create an overriding record into a new ESP to just modify the NPC rather than anything else and when I modify just overriding NPC in the new ESP I still get the same issue.

 

 

Does anyone know why this is happening?
