Sexout FAQ

Recommended Posts

Time we had a thread that compiled the various questions and answers people have about Sexout... what it is, what it does, why that robot has an STD... things like that.

So, here we go.

What is Sexout?

Put simply, it's a mod designed to add adult actions and encounters to FalloutNV. By itself, it does nothing... it's the various plugins that do all the exciting visual (or not so visual) stuff.

For example, you want to try to fuck for a discount? Then you need the discount plugin as well as the Base Mod.

Where do I get the Base Mod/Plugins?

The Base Mod itself is in a stickied thread right here... the plugins are in another stickied thread here.

What do they all do?

I could list them all, but it's starting to be a longish list... so all I can say is check the plugin thread. The first post is updated with current and forthcoming plugins with descriptions for each one, along with warnings of any possible conflicts with other plugins.

Ok... so I've got them, how do I use them?

The same way you use any mod... download, extract and drop them into your NV Data folder. As with any other mod, having a back-up of your Data folder in case things go pear-shaped is a good idea.

Once you've done that, launch the game, and (assuming you are using the launcher) click on the "Data Files" option. Stick a tick in the mods you want to use, click ok, and play the game.

On the other hand, you could use FOMM or LOST to do that... and it is best to have at least one of them so you can sort your load order out.

I can't recommend getting FOMM enough... if only because it comes with the Archive Invalidation tool built in... and you need that activated for any clothing/body replacers to work properly.

Wait... Load Order?

A little list that tells the game what order to load the various Master files and mods. It can often be used to get around possible conflicts, or even solve issues.

Ok... so what order should Sexout be in?

Well, the Sexout .ESM (the Master File) needs to be towards the top... put it after most other .ESMs but before any .ESPs.

The Sexout .ESPs don't need much in the way of order sorting yet. Myself, I put them as late in the load order as possible, so any other mods won't "overwrite" the way the mods work. (Later in the list means loaded later, so they take precedence over mods that do the same kind of thing)

There is a suggested load order at the bottom of the plugin list, found here.

I've got it all working, but something strange has happened!

Well, that's really what this FAQ is about... answering questions about Sexout and what might go wrong.

Whenever I have sex, my character goes invisible/see-through!

Yeah... it's a known bug I'm afraid. It happens if you are in 1st person, or zoomed in close in 3rd person. The only suggestion is that you stay as zoomed out as possible when you're wanting to have sex.

I had sex, and now my character is stuck in an animation! I can't do anything!

Again, another known issue... if it has happened to you, then open the console and type "TFC" (without quotes) then exit the console. Then, open the console again and type "player.playidle sexoutreset" (again, without quotes)

That should sort it out... and once you've done that, open the console and type "TFC" again. Close the console and continue playing.

Or, and this seems to work all the time, simply press "Y" to start masturbating. when the animation ends, you're good to go. (female only by the looks of it though... sorry )

How do I prostitute myself?

Well, you can make your way to Gamorrah, talk to the Receptionist and take the job there... she'll take all your clothes off you (do you want to be weighed down? :P) and give you a prostitution outfit to wear. Just wander around the casino and you'll have various NPC's coming up and using you. Downside is, you don't get to choose what they do.

Or, you can try to find any of the 3 prostitution outfits in the game... wear one of those and you will automatically start prostituting yourself. If you use the MKII prostitution plugin, you get the chance to choose what they do to you... at the price of a lowered payment.

Or... you can get any clothing or armour you feel like and "nominate" it as a prostitution outfit in the Prostitution Handbook. Again, wear it and get fucked! :P

I nominated an outfit and it worked last night, but doesn't now. What's gone wrong?

It happens... you just need to remove it from the list, and re-add it.

What's this about "Stalkers"?

Rapists... they are NPC's that will attempt to drug you and rape you. You will get no warning, unless you have the optional Brutal Rapers plugin.

Ok... so what do the settings mean?

To quote myself...

Stalker frequency is the main one... Stalker settings->Stalker frequency->Edit frequency... it goes from 1 to 30 and is a multiplier. If you want to be raped to shit, set it high... but the default is 10. (yeah, 30 just turns the Mojave into an orgy and you can't do anything.) Myself, I have it set to 2 most of the time, which ends up with something happening about once every 5 mins or so.

Now... that's all fine and dandy, but you can fine-tune it with the rates. I *think* it's another multiplier, but I could be wrong. It sets all the various couplings... 0-10, with 0 being that option being turned off. (X by the way, means Monster... Ghouls, muties, dogs, deathclaws and the like)

That gets applied to the Frequency setting, so if you have that low, it's gonna slow things down a bit.

Lewdness is simply a measure of how much of a slut your character is... sort of a representation of how "easy" you are, and (yet again) affects how likely it is that you'll be stalked.

Sexiness comes into play here too... this is based off your DT and DR, so the only way you can affect it is by wearing low-DT armour, or just clothes. Other than that, it's the same as Lewdness.

The reputation thing... I don't think it's been applied yet, it's just a place-holder. When it's working, it will reduce the chances of NPC's from that faction trying to rape you.

There is nothing in place yet to escape from rape, nor have any friends/allies come to your aid. (that'll require another plugin or two... they need to get the whole getting raped plugins working before they can think about that)

In summary, if you want to reduce the amount of rape significantly, you need to turn down the stalker frequency. It'll take a bit of dicking around with it until you get the settings you're happy with, but it's easy enough to do.

Wow... so just about anything could try to rape you?

Essentially, yes... most Abominations or those that use a Human body as their base. (Ghouls, Spore carriers, Super Mutants, and so on) All canines will try, and there is work in progress to get cazadors in that list. (Yes... those big, posionous, seriously nasty bastards will be able to rape you soon... are you creeped out yet? I know I am!)

Ok... what's this combat rape thing?

It's the same kind of thing, except you don't get stalked... you just run the risk of being raped by whatever you are fighting at the time.

As to how it works, I'll quote myself...

Combat rape is a different kettle of fish... it only has two settings: The maximum health you can have for it to happen, and a rate setting.

The max health setting is self-explanatory... the rate, not so much. Obviously the higher it is, the more likely you are to get raped in combat... but it's also diminishing returns. For example, to have a roughly 90% chance of it triggering, you need to have the rate at about 500ish (or something like that)

It should be noted that the lower your health, the more likely it is to happen... but it only checks every 2 seconds or so, meaning there is a chance you could be killed without it triggering at all. Oh, and you need to be very close to the mob in question.

So, yeah... something that can be quite nasty if you're taking on a group. And yes, Deathclaws can combat rape you... but since you lie there in shock for a few seconds afterwards, and since they go right back to attacking you, if it happens... you are a dead person.

Hmm... sounds nasty. Can I turn it off?

Yep... all the options can be turned off using the relevant Handbooks. You can toggle them on or off at a moments notice... 0 being off, 1 being on.

Or, if you use the Mod Configuration Menu mod, you can do it via the options when the game is paused... quicker and easier.

I prostituted myself a while ago, and I've just noticed no-one is being raped... why?

Sounds like Stalkers got turned off... it does that automatically whenever you prostitute yourself, or when you enter Gamorrah. For some people, it doesn't turn back on like it's supposed to.

Just open the Rapist Handbook, and toggle them back on.

I tried that but it didn't work, and it's got a line of 0's on the Stalkers line.

Known issue at the moment... the only cure is to save your game, exit, deactivate the rapers plugin, load your game, save it again, exit, reactivate the plugin, reload.

Woah! My characters boobs have just stretched out to the horizon! What the fuck?!?

This is usually know as the "Boobs to Infinity" problem... it's down to you not using a Bouncing Boobs skeleton. If you get one of those and install it to your Data folder, it'll sort it out. There is one available for download in the plugins post here.

Help! I have the stalker frequency set really high, and it makes my game crash!

We know... unfortunately, New Vegas is (to quote my GF) a "buggy piece of shit software" and will fall over if there are too many NPC's doing too much in a small area. That's one reason why the vanilla game doesn't have that many NPC's around... if you look at some early shots of the Fort, you'll see a couple of dozen Legionaries in a very small area, yet if you go there in the game, you'll find 3.

This is one reason I keep the frequency low... I use a rePopulated mod that massively increases the number of NPC's around, and if I have the frequency above 10, NV crashes after about 3 mins. (and anything higher than 10 is just asking for almost constant rape... surely we're not all that perverted? ;) )

I'm a bit embarrassed about this, but I appear to have caught one/several/all of the STDs... how do I go about getting it cured?

There's only one way to cure it... you have to trek ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way to the New Vegas Medical Clinic (next to the Crimson Caravan outpost over by the Freeside entrances) and have a talk to the Sex Doctor there. (and if you get a bit embarrassed talking to a woman about this, tough! ;) )

She will cure you and/or any companions (for a fee) and can sell you STD cure kits that you can use on yourself, or give to your companion(s) to use on themselves.

Oh, and don't forget that if you've caught AIDS it'll be hitting you constantly with damage... and you can't fast-travel when you're taking damage. Hope you like long walks in the desert! :P

I am not sure if this should be posted here. But I have a couple mods, and am only using the base Sexout for New Vegas. I have an issue that once I toggle Archive Invalidation it causes the unclothed texture to look very odd, and will make the character use the underwear skin during sex.

If this is where I should mention that, I would hope to know if there is something I am doing wrong, or some way to fix this.

Are you leaving Archive Invalidation toggled on? What you describe is almost always it being turned off.

:edit: I will also say that the AII I gave a link to is problematic for some people, in that turning it on does nothing. It's much better to use the Arcive invalidation tool that comes with FOMM instead.

I have a question for which I've been unable to find an answer searching the forums (I hope I did search correctly)...

I have Sexout and BNB (Bouncing Natural Breasts). Both are working correctly (huge bouncing breasts and rapists everywhere), but when some happy couple are at their thing, "bounciness" doesn't show. Big disappointment. :-/

I take this is normal, right? Because even with a bouncing boobs skeleton.nif, the animation files need to be modified as well (?).

If someone could confirm to me this as expected behavior I would be grateful.

Regards.

That is normal right now. The sex animation files are built with the vanilla skeleton, not with the BNB skeleton. Fixing that would require all the animations get edited/rebuilt with the new skeleton. Someone who's done BNB could provide more detail, but that's a LOT of animation files to edit; over 150.

OK then. Many thanks for your reply.

I changed the fem body replacers to BNB ones because I was naively fantasizing about some hot Sexy Beach 3 sex scenes, and I thought it would be amazing to see that in FNV, but that was a long shot for sure. :sleepy:

I'll revert to Type3 then. I prefer its more lingerie-model approach to the female anatomy, he, he... :P

If you do revert, keep the skeleton around. Quite a few of the mods here require it. You'll know you need it and don't have it if you see tits stretching 100 miles into the distance.

Or imploding into your torso. The horizon tits are more common' date=' but implosion tits happen sometimes.

I'll wait until that happens then. In fact, I'll consider my life fulfilled when I got to see those infinite boobs.

Check! :D

I believe you also need the skeleton from the _1stperson folder as well' date=' right?

[/quote']

You could be right, but I don't think so.

Yeah, you need it in both... or you'll run the risk of infinite boobs in 1st person. (doesn't always happen though)

Here's a question or two I think should be added.

okay so I"m walking along and suddenly I see some horny chick coming at me. Unfortunately I don't react fast enough and now i'm being raped. Is there a way to fight it off (I know in the lovers series you'd hit block a bunch of times and that would eventually stop it.)

Similarly, i'm walking around and a caravan merchant starts raping Willow (my companion)!! Is there a way to stop that without turning the merchants hostile?

Maybe Willow asked him too? :)

Does the Fallout Raper with all creatures' date=' Instead of Mutants, Ghouls and dogs?

[/quote']

Supported creatures:

- Supermutants & nightkids (haha)

- Dogs & coyotes

- Ghouls (and I think feral and glowing ones)

- Deathclaws

- Centaurs

- Spore carriers

- (soon) cazadores

Here's a question or two I think should be added.

#1 There are settings for that, but they never actually worked for me, or didn't seem to.

#2 Nope. Raping is a one way street. NPCs rape? Fine. You rape? Hostility. You fight back? Hostility. Just the way it is for now. :D

Most of the animations work' date=' but some are broken. My character is sometimes transparent, and sometimes just disappears until the animation finished. How do I troubleshoot this?

[/quote']

This is a camera issue. You can 'fix' it by toggling the flycam off and on. Open the console and type "tfc" then exit the console. Do it again and you should be visible.

I'm working on a fix, but it will always be an issue. I'm just trying to make it less common.

Hi everyone.

First I'd like to say thanks for all the work you guys have been doing here.

I am new to this site thanks to a mate pointing me here from Nexus.

And so far, after installing this great mod series, I am damn impressed.

I have a question though and I apologize if it's stated elsewhere. I have been reading all kinds of things here while getting and installing the various esp's and all, but anyway...

Can all these esp's (or some) be safely merged together to reduce load order esp counts ?

I know it's a noob question and all but hey, I'm a noob... what can I say :)

Again, much thanks to you all for this project.

Link to comment

No, you cannot safely merge these. In particular, all the MCM configuration stuff depends on them being different ESMs and ESPs (MCM scripts rely on the filename of the mod).

That said, this isn't Oblivion. ;) There's no real issue with having a bunch of ESMs and ESPs loaded. I seldom run more than 15 or so at a time, but others here run MANY more at once.

Link to comment

Thank you Prideslayer for educating me on that aspect.

Yes, I too run many (currently 137 with these babies). and no problem for me.

I wasn't worried though, it wasn't like I was having issues currently, just a question that comes to mind for me sometimes that's all.

Thanks again :)
