sanguisfrigidus Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 i just bought skyrim off steam at 50% off. partly 'cos i saw that there's 25k skyrim mods now(vs ~28k for oblivion) on nexus. so i went browsing.. maybe its the 'smart video' chrome extension(set to load every video and notify me, not play, on 100% buffer) i'm using. but its highly irritating that every other nexus page has two dozen embedded videos, which will then all start playing...i just want to read what the mod's about*. it used to be that videos were parked under a 'videos' tab so that there wont be a general cacophony when all one was trying to do was to read the description, quickly. *maybe its me. i'd usually much rather read a walkthru than watch a video walkthru anyways. and this trend of video-fying stuff is spreading. where people used to write to describe their products, now they increasingly like to do webinars.. i dont want to read the manual/release notes only after i installed the damn thing, i want to read it before i install.. and i don't want to watch a 5-10min video when skimming thru the release notes can tell me in 10-20s theres nothing i want in the new version. arrrgh!
