I would like to know what tools I need, and link to guides etc. i love the game and at the moment I have a lot of free time. I want to work on items, clothing and animations.

I haven't created any mods myself, but I considered doing so from time to time, so I came across these:

- Sims4Studio

- Mod Constructor (I'm not sure if this is still relevant)

- Script modding: http://sims4studio.com/thread/15145/started-python-scripting-updated (though I still haven't found some kind of API/wiki that lists the most basic things like how to create a pie menu entry)

If you want to create objects/animations, you'll probably need Blender.

An animation tutorial is on LL:

Sorry I don't provide more tutorials, but I'm sure you can find something when searching the programs.

Start small! Before you do animations, try doing poses. Before adding big items with a lot of interactions, try doing small decorations! Work your way up to more complex things by doing simpler things first, and I promise you'll have an easier time.

Here's a really simple tutorial for poses. It'll get you started! You'll need Blender, Sims 4 Studio, and image editing software (Gimp, Photoshop, or even MSPaint! Any other program works too though).

This link here has the rigs you'll need for posing and animating Sims. It's also a guide, which I found very useful. Read every detail of it!

The main reason I recommend doing poses before animations is because it'll help you get used to Blender before you take on bigger projects. Much of what you learn from doing poses will be used for animations later on.
