[SOLVED!] Character Face, Specular Map gone after loading...

Greetings,

 

i searched through Google and some Threads but couldnt find a working fix. It seems like nobody even knows whats causing this behavior.

 

Problem:

Added "SweatyBody"-SpecularMaps to CotS.

After Charactercreation all is well. But after loading a saved game the specular Map on the head is gone.

 

I have tried some fixes:

- disable VampireFaceFixes

- added "ShowRaceMenu-Options"

- added "Enhanced Character Edit"

- tried new game

- tried non overwriting saves

 

I hope someone had the same Problem and fixed it successfully.

In my previous Skyrim-Installation there was no such problem.

Looks like some serious Script issues but i have no knowledge about such stuff...

 

Hopefully someone can tell me what i'm doing wrong.

Problem solved!

 

After many hours of searching throuh scripts... mods... head meshes, textures and so on i finally localized the main issue.

 

Its entierly possible to rescue old saves...

 

It seems like the console-"player.sexchange"-command as replacement for the "showracemenu" -> Change gender doesnt like to save specular maps.

 

If you experience the issue named in the first post, just go to the trouble of constant ctds and change your players gender with the good old standart "showracemenu"... ...and look there your characters faces specular maps will look the same before and after a save.

 

Hopefully this Post can save someone else some time :D

I have a similar problem or the same to be precise, for every female character, but it doesn't matter whether or not I use showracemenu.

In fact even if I start a completely new game and create a character it will change after loading. 

 

When I start up character creation it's already not using the specularmaps, only if I change the complexion slider it starts using them but after creation or the next load of the savegame it's gone again.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I had this exact problem. Opening the racemenu and moving the complexion slider fixed the specular map, but it'd disappear whenever I quickloaded.

 

The mod causing it was "RaceMenu - DisableFaceGenCache v1-1" that's an optional SKSE plugin file with RaceMenu.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but like zqzq I'm having the exact same problem where facial specular and subsurface maps aren't loading correctly; however, after I deleted DisableFaceGenCache (which is not a permanent solution, because I get instant ctd's without it as soon as I enter the race menu) the problem persists.

 

Additionally, I can't even get the maps to show up by going into the race menu and changing the complexion, like described previously. I really don't know what to do at this point...

I'm having the same problems, but I've even tried disabling "ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer" or "DisableFaceGenCach V1-1" switching races, switching back races, and then re-adding the face's complexion.  It'll temporarily work, but after saving and loading, the spectral map is gone. 

 

EDIT: I found out what was the problem.  My femalehead.nif file had incorrectly mapped texture files.  You're results might vary, but for me to fix the problem, I had to start by opening the file in nifscope.  Then click on 0 NiNode, 1 NiTriShape, 6 BSLightingShaderProperty 7BSShaderTextureSet.  Next, open up the Textures name and then remap the various textures to their new folder locations.  ***note, your head parts in the CK also have to be correctly mapped to the appropriate male/femalehead.nif files.
