sme_rook Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 This probably seems weird to people, but since I haven't found one I thought I should ask. The Empire seems very Roman to me, and the Nords seem equally comparable to/based on Vikings. Both had a pragmatic (rather than strictly sexual) slavery system. While there are slavery mods out there, I've only been able to find the ones focused on sex or based in combat. What I'm thinking of is less "Train this slave" or "Fuck them constantly" and more assigning a staff member to pick up a new kitchen slave at the market, or have one specifically for the garden in one of your estates, maybe an educated slave can be put in charge of managing the others (including the option to specify what type of slaves you prefer for a given role and the treatment you expect them to receive), maybe some of Skyrim's orphans have gotten pulled into this (or sold themselves so they'd have food and shelter) leaving you the opportunity to buy them and ensure they are well fed and cared for. In contrast maybe your conditions aren't good and you're replacing slaves fairly frequently because you misuse them (and have slaves' demeanor in your presence reflect your reputation). Maybe even go a step further and mimic the slavery laws from Rome, but since their source is Imperial they are unevenly enforced. Maybe Imperials (historically/culturally) prefer multiple slaves, each specialized, whereas Nords (historically/culturally) prefer one or two assigned to serve the whole household. Obviously, most of that is optional (ideal?), but you get what I mean. The Dragonborn exists in a world of which slavery is a common, mundane, part. They might interact with it, or simply observe it. Given the premise, I don't actually expect much, on this site or others (but where else would it be safe to pose such a question?), and I've never personally proven capable of modding, but if anybody knows something that approximates even a tenth of this I would greatly appreciate the information. Thank you.
