Mesh Editing/Exporting/Importing Help

I'm a noob when it comes to mesh editing but I'm trying to what I assume is a pretty simple operation compared to what you pros are doing. :)

I'm trying to change a mod I really like to have a more shiny appearance. I've managed to figure out how to load the .tmcmesh for one part of the model into Blender and have added a shiny material from another mod's mesh that I like. Whenever I export the .tmcmesh and attempt to import back into the model using LR Photo Studio, I'm not seeing any apparent change to the model. What am I missing?

I think blender doesn't have anything to do with the shiny effect, you should check and use the TMC object tool, with that tool you can configure any part of the costume to have the shiny effect, across the game there are 6 or more different textures that gave that effect, the rest is by using this tool to configure that part, but first, import some other mod with the same effect and look how it looks and try to do the same configuration by using the tool.

Thanks for getting back to me. This has helped me get further along but now I'm getting stuck with the TMC Object Tool. I read the guide located here and have been able to import the shiny material from the source mod using "Get Material" menu. After importing the material I don't see a change in LR Photo Studio or in game. If I look at the textures for the source mod vs my target mod, they are not the same. The source mod has a bright white dot which I assume is the texture being reflected.. While the target mod has its original normal map (I think its the normal map .. the one that determines the brightness of a reflection). I tried swapping the normal texture in LR Photo Studio for the target mod to have the normal map of the source mod... but this also didn't cause a change. Maybe there's a critical step I'm missing in the TMC Object Tool you could point out. I should also mention I was able to get the source mod's normal by using the import function in TMC Object Tool, but I couldn't do a save as of the mesh I edited.

Also, does the environment texture cause the shiny effect?

Also, these are your mods.. ? I really appreciate your hard work.

about the enviroment, yes, make sure to in TMC object tool in ''env'', change the value to 1 and set the textures proplerly, usually in the TexType option set to 0123, 0 is for the colored texture, 1 is for the normal map(blue), 2 is for specular, and 3 is for enviroment, in this cae the shiny effect.

Ok. But how do I get the proper environment texture into TMC Object Tool? I don't see it as an option from what I can select when viewing the textures in the browser window. Or does the texture selected not matter?

7 = diffuse

10 = normal

5 = specular

13 = environment

Current "environment" texture .. should it be the bright white spot? How do I get that in this menu to select from?

in the texture arrangement, try 7 10 13 and the enviromental texture, 16 by the image, 7 10 13 16, then, use the ''Get Material'' and look for other model with the smae object and configuration as yours, another that has the same ''0123'' textype
