Replacing Stuff

I always see pics of NPC who are wearing a modded armor or have modded hair or anything modded on them.
My question is only, how can i replace for example the Whiterun armor with a modded one or let NPC have some modded skins

I never found a tutorial about that so i just installed a hair mod (in this chase ApachiiSkyHair) but i only can use them via the race menu and i can only use it on my own character so the vanilla hair still exists.

I think i am sure that i just missed something about modding "textures" ... but i hope somebody can help me a bit out with this.

All good examples of how to do it, the easiest way to just change cloths and outfits it to open up ck, load it up and go to the section of outfit's(Circled in green) in the object window, not armor, but outfits, then take for example: FarmerClothsOutfit01(Circled in Yellow), open up the outfit and remove the cloths (Circled in Orange)that are in that outfit, and replace it with, say ebony armor cuirass and ebony boots, close and save. Now every NPC that was wearing farmeroutfit01 will now be wearing ebony armor.

The outfits in the file is nothing more then a container to hold what cloths/armor the NPC will wear. If you look at the right of the outfit  that I have circled in Blue it will show you how many NPCs wear this outfit, in this case 43 of them, if you want to find out what NPCs use it, then right click on the outfit and select user info, once you have this down, if you want to continue I can give you a quick easy tutorial on changing the appearance including, hair, makeup, nose/eyes/ lips ect

EDIT: To add modded armor, just load the esp the modded armor is in and then add that armor to the outfit container of your choice, and the npcs wearing that outfit will now wear the modded armor
