Skyrim crashing since 1.8 update...

[LEDAHGRIM]

Previously I had 1.7 version of skyrim with dawnguard and

heartfire DLC, And very rarely did I get frezzes, CTD's, etc...

 

Now that I have updated to 1.8 update because a few mods need

it, I have been getting constant freezes, CTD's, And other issues...

 

I'm not sure if some mods are the problem because I'm not as

experienced like the community here, So I'll post my BOSS Log in

plain text format and see if anyone can help...

I have done evrything I can think of, From deactivating mods

to deleting skyrim and perform a cean install and still get

the freezes and CTD's... Is it a problem with the 1.8 update?

 

I ask because apparently lots of people began to have problems

since the 1.8 update went live... Som say it's th "Sky UI" some

other say it's not...

 

So I'm her to ask the experts! Thanks In advance!

Though Im no expert and your problem could be from 1 thing or a combo

of many things, I will list as many problem fix's as I can think of.

as I cant see anything wrong with your load order

 

when you uninstall skyrim I dont think it removes

your skyrim ini's thats in your mydocuments/mygames folder.

might try backing them up first then deleting them

then run skyrim from steam. it will make new ini's

 

though 1.7 to 1.8 shouldn't make any difference to the bashed patch

but when was the last time you rebuilt your bashed patch ?

 

and are you tring this on a fresh charactor or a old save ?

old saves can carry over old problems even to a fresh install

 

have you ever tried OptimizerTextures program thats on Nexus

it helps alot for freezes and CTD

 

I try alot of mods so I install and uninstall stuff often (wrye bash)

and I have to defrag skyrim about every 2 days to keep it running smooth.

 

Is Steam and Skyrim installed to the c:\Program Files folder ?

if so then sometimes, modding and windows UAC do not like to play well together.

alot of people will install Steam and all related games so it has its own folder

( example, c:\Steam\ ) that way UAC isn't a problem.

 

I had to back up the games I play with Steams built in backup tool

made sure I had and knew my steam account username and password

uninstalled all steam games with steam.

then uninstalled steam, then reinstall it to its own folder.

then reinstall all my games again using steams backup and restore option

(that way I didn't have to redownload all my games)

 

it was a major pain in the ass and may not have helped at all

but may modder on here recommended it, so I did it.

(this was back a few years ago when I was playing and modding Oblivion)

I don't use the bashed patch since most of my mods can't

be merged together...

 

I'll try the program you suggested, Maybe it will help and

I'll try with a new character and see if that was a problem

as well.

 

Anyone else know anything about this?
