xymox300 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Is it just me, or is LL running ridiculously slowly? There's nothing wrong with either my PC or my 'net connection - I happily stream movies from Netflix / YouTube / etc. ..... but when it comes to this site.... I am old enough to remember the days of analogue modems. This site takes me back to those days, with images loading one raster-layer at a time. I love looking at the sims you guys have created, but to be honest, life is too short to wait 10 minutes to look at half a dozen jpegs. FWIW: I have just given-up trying to read the last page on the R-Lo picture thread. The only program running on my PC at the moment is FireFox. (I logged-out of this forum, went to YouTube, and watched a random video, which loaded perfectly.) I want to be here, but until this sites' speeds improve, I'm not sure that it's worth the effort. Any suggestions?
Crazy Doll Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Try with an other browser. I use Chrome and don't have any issue with it.
smjm81 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 @xymox300 Sometimes, like all websites, it's just a matter of the site undergoing maintenance at the time you're choosing to visit. Another possible reason is heavy traffic at certain times of the day that eats up the sites allowed bandwidth. There is also the ever growing number DDoS attacks from bots that occur as well. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about things such like these. That said, it may help to limit the number of things that your computer/internet has to process on each page, starting with pop-up ads. I would strongly suggest using an adblocker. Preferably the Ublock extension addon which is far superior to adblock. You can get it from here since you're using firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ Just my suggestion is all.
xymox300 Posted May 24, 2019 Author Posted May 24, 2019 Wow! It was FireFox (which I always run with ad-blocker) !! Just tried with Chrome, and all is good. Thanks.
