Porting weapon w/script question- first time modder (Yamato Sword)

Hello Loverslab! First and foremost, I want to thank the modders and staff here. As well as the members. I've always come here for my modding needs, both adult and not. And It's never let me down. The wealth of amazingly created mods is phenominal, and honestly, I don't really check anywhere else. :D Except of course Nexus LITERALLY just for ease of download/access to my mod manager. >.> If Loverslab had that I doubt I'd even go to NMM unless I had to. XD Anyway, on to the main topic at hand.

 

I've been around for a while sifting through all sorts of weapon mods left and right. FINALLY, I got fed up and decided to port over my favorite weapon mod from oldrim that I never got around to actually using. SO, here's the nitty gritty. I've taken the time to update the NIFs, and the ESP. So everything works...except two glaring and annoying issues. Double-draw, and the pose doesn't work.. ~.~ For the life of me, I can't figure out how to fix this. Granted, I know little to nothing about scripting. Further more I only just learned how to to simple porting Oldrim>SSE just today from a video that, er, wolf127 I think it was? Gosh I'm so flustered with this I can't remember correctly. x.x Anyway, yeah. So I decided to see if any of the geniuses from Loverslab could lend me some of their knowledge to help me fix this issue. For now, I'm going to keep the mod to myself until I know it works. And even then, I'd feel horrid if I re-uploaded it somewhere with out consent from the author. And honestly, it's so old I don't even know who originally created it anymore. :/

You need to convert animations too, there is a guid here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2970/?tab=description

 

Run FNIS after as usual, if there is a behaviour file you might need to redo it using FNIS for modders, sometimes those don't convert correctly.

Ooof. I feel stupid not having realized that. For some reason I thought it'd be fine. Haha. I'll try this out ASAP. I'll respond once I can. My Vortex decided to get corrupted so I'm going to take a day to uninstall, and reinstall using NMM instead of Vortex now. Thanks again for the help Kaarinah! Once I figure this out I'll be super happy. :D Who knows, I might even try to port other things that haven't been ported yet. If I don't totally screw myself over. xD

Okidoke. After getting situated, I updated the animation files. So those work now. Buuuuut, now the blade doesn't actually come out of the scabbard. So now I feel like the script is borked maybe. :classic_unsure:
