Kurosu Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I've been tinkering with the Construction Set, and I'm running into a weird problem. I created an NPC to use as a companion from scratch, placed it in Anvil. 1) Every time I reopen the construction set, the companion is all of a sudden a new race. One time it was the dummy race, then it was the dremora race all of a sudden. I had originally set it as the ImperialG04 race. 2) When I enter Anvil after activating the .esp, the game crashes. Probably related to the weird race issue. Any ideas as to what's going on?
Iris86 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 try the load order... every once in a while the characters you create with a certain race get turned into default race when the mod that supports the race is gone (or is after the mod you made, it has to be before so your mod had it's parent mods support) or they lose their heads and become walking clothes, use wryebash to start oblivion with obse and also run the mod manager to adjust your load order while looking at bash every now and then, when everything is in the right order all mods in the list will be marked green and no crash should happen, if any mod is marked in orange or even worse, red, your load order is wrong, check every orange/red marked mod and check it has it's parent mods installed and in the right order, that should solve it.
Menesh Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 If you create NPCs from custom races, you have to manually assign the mod file, that the custom race is from, as a master of your esp in Wrye Bash. Without that step the CS will act up when you open your mod again, even if you open the race mod with it. You will have to do that everytime you modify your mod as the CS doesn't save .esp masters. (At least the vanilla CS, I never used the CS extender).
