2cool4u_1 Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 With my recent Lara Croft excitement, I ran a test (ReShade, Facial sliders, poses, mods, some CC) in Selvadorada spamming the photo-capture button. Glancing through the hundreds of pics, a story presented itself which I am now sharing. HOWEVER, my original intention was just to have fun making it, read through it once, then delete it forever. As such, do not expect a masterpiece; The photoshopping particularly leaves something to be desired. If you can lower your expectations though, it may bring you some amusement. I highly suggest you listen to the background music while you go through the story, it will make it seem exponentially better. WARNING: The following contains nudity and NO sexual content. And of course he does a three-point landing in the Part 2. The Part 3 raises some heavy questions though. How is he using the sims game on his computer to modify his own reality? How is a sim able to download things from LL and materialize them? Why is he green? Some pretty deep stuff. ? Also, obligatory ? for the Frozen merchandize. You were right about the screenshots as posters, I think the one with the wetsuit looks especially good. ?

I was in a weird mood when I came up with it, and it seemed silly / funny at the time. I like breaking the "4th-wall" every now and then, which is why he used the sims game, and why he gives a thumbs-up to the viewer at the end. I also threw in an Easter egg; When he first starts using the computer, it has a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" screen. You suggested I share the posters. Hopefully, I will soon, but I used a mesh from "Cats & Dogs". I haven't found a Base Game mesh I like yet. There are a couple left to try, otherwise I may try making a custom mesh (I've never attempted that before though).

Only share when and if you feel like it, no pressure ?. I have one poster set in the works, which I've based on the #1 Mom Wall Decal (from the base game I believe). It is only a 2D mesh, with no frame or rim, except maybe if you paint a flat one yourself. I think it is usable, even though the shape is this simple. There are some barely noticeable jaggies on the edges of the texture from some angles. Because it is a decal, it supports transparency and you don't have to worry too much about the source images being the right aspect ratio or need cropping (which I struggled with when using the usual posters). Here's what it currently looks like in the game, the art is by dandonfuga: I'm also considering using the simlish font for the text on the posters.

swordofthesun Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 That was very amusing. In the beginning, I kept expecting Lara to show up and help him get through adventures inside the buildings. But it seems the green dude was pretty competent himself xD He would probably make a good side-kick for Lara in her adventures, if she ever decided to take him on.

One thing I noticed when trying a few meshes; The 3D ones often look weird and have messed up shadows when you change the size. After all, there are more movies to emulate. That would have to be sometime in the future. I took 4 days off from my sim-dressing project (bad hand cramps) so I did this instead, but now I want to get back to it. Happy to hear you liked the story. If I knew it was going to be appreciated this much, I would've spent more time on it.

Every once in a while I like to be unpredictable and do things differently. ? It's not as good as your stuff, but I figured it was enough, plot-wise, to put together a quick story.

The last couple of meshes turned out to be a bust, so I looked at Decals again and found one I like (wall graffiti). Somehow I missed it before, possibly because I also went through all the DEBUG items. I like the Simlish font, I'm going to consider using it too. ?

Thank you. I actually sent him through 3 times, so that he would go feet first. For some reason, he insisted on going face first each time.
