No your not doing anything wrong that I know off. I think the patch is designed with males in mind, that is why it looks a bit out of place.

ahhh I see the issue now the patch is over that hair. I believe there was a thread already on here in the forum somewhere about this issue. Wouldn't hurt to throw eye patch in the search and see what comes up.

Can't really figure out what could be the issue either. I got the same eyepatch and it works completely fine for me.
