I've recently removed a couple of mods, started a new (clean) game and I've never really played unmodded Skyrim, at least not enough to see everything. So, I am wondering if killing a thief who tries to kill you after you refuse to give him money considered to be a crime? I've killed one on the way to Riverwood and when I entered the village, everyone became hostile... Is it normal?

No matter the intent if the NPC doesn't belong to one of the actual enemy factions but they become hostile towards you and you hit first you are the bad guy because until they hit you the game doesn't register them as the aggressor.

Thank you very much for this clarification, though I think he did hit me 1st... Not sure. However, how the hell the people nearly a mile away know that I killed some thief... I am not sure how to deal with this, are they hostile forever or there's a time limit? Is there a mod that manages this nonsense?
Teytame Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Apparently this is a random event. I tried another run from earlier save, killed 2 wolves, same thing, the village is hostile...

I am passed this now, approached everything from another angle, but when I've got near Whiterun, I was attacked by U...what'shername the Unyielding or something.. She knocked my ass on the ground, then switched to my companion, kicked her ass too, told me I made her do this and ran away... The quest with broken wheel never started for me... Perhaps Cicero is still there, I didn't check, but this all is beyond weird... I'm level 7 now, met her in the inn, punched her face into the floor in the brawling, we are best friends now. But I have no idea what to expect from this game anymore... I'm actually curious to see what else it'll spill on me, so I'll keep playing.
