Poly dating

So, backstory: I recently got the "aphrodite" aspiration from modthesims. First tasks to achieve it is to 1) get married and 2) have 5 boy/girlfriends. My 2 women are married and they live with another man whom they are all romantically involved with. However I've run across a problem. Neither of them can ask the other to be boy/girlfriends.

I've run into this issue a few times and I have yet to figure out how to fix it. It prevents me from being able to complete my aspirations. (Mind Broken and Aphrodite). 

Any help or tips would be very much appreciated. If this topic has been covered already, I would definitely appreciate being sent in the right direction. Thanks!
