maymay1588 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Finally I have completed it! Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?4k99iosgmvqyso5 It is called Tevinter Fugitive armor and it is light/weightslider supported/craft/temper/enchant under the Misc section. The only issue I noticed with it is that the gauntlets do this weird thing where you can see the hand texture if you look at them from a distance at front view, but that's minor. You can see what I mean below. I may fix the textures a bit later to make the metal more shiny and add detail to the leg part if I get around to it as well as the gauntlet issue, but for now this is it. Also, I will probably port the hair and make a texture for the lyrium lines later to finish off the project. If someone wants to improve it, then by all means go ahead, just share it with us lol. Credits go to Bioware for the armor meshes and textures. For the feet meshes, that goes to Chris57 and FavoredSoul on the nexus for the Better Males mod. I was not about to use ugly vanilla feet.
maymay1588 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Okay figured out the issue, now I can finish it up and release it after some more tweeking, making it slider compatible, and doing the same for pants/boots and gauntlets
SuicideCommando Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Cool. Hope you make some more DA2 conversions. Any chance of you doing weapons? I'd love to see The Edge of Song and Glory in Skyrim. You'd be my hero. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Edge_of_Song_and_Glory
maymay1588 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 I haven't messed with weapons yet, but I can imagine it is a lot easier than armor. I will give it a shot after this.
SuicideCommando Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Then you are totally my hero maymay. You just made my day.
SuicideCommando Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Any updates maymay? Sorry to be a pain, just curious is all.
maymay1588 Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Sorry, since it is the holidays I have been busy. The main part of the armor is finished and compatible with the weight slider and I have finished the 0 body for the pants part. That still leaves the 1 body for the pants, the gauntlets, and texture fixes. I may take I break from that and look into that weapon first. If it is only gonna take a couple of hours to port then I will go ahead and do that first.
SuicideCommando Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Awesome. Glad to hear you might do the sword soon.
Eyrika Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Ahhh Fenris... I miss you.. The same voice actor is in Skyrim, but didn't voice all the necessary files for a compaion. ARG! Why bethesda!
maymay1588 Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 I know right! Everytime in that cart ride at the beginning of the game, I hear him shout "Shut up back there!" I shout back "Shut up Fenris!" lol. I bet someone could use all the audio files to make a companion mod with that voice though.
SuicideCommando Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 lol, I never even noticed that. Coming up on my first complete playthrough of the game though so I'll have to make a note to listen more attentively on my next playthrough. Oh and maymay, could you make a second, greatsword version by enlarging the mesh a bit? Longsword and greatsword would be ideal, if it's not too much trouble. I'm so excited for this.
maymay1588 Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 Yeah, I'm gonna start working on the sword tomorrow, the armor is not cooperating with me at all and I need to take a break from it.
SuicideCommando Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Well then that's good for me. Here's to the sword going much, much smoother than the armor.
maymay1588 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Sorry for taking so long, I have been trying to get 3ds max to open the msh file for the weapon, which worked fine with the armor, but it isn't with the sword for whatever reason. I am now gonna use Blender to get it converted to at least an obj file that I can open it in max. I should be able to this way. I do have all the meshes and textures together for it at least.
SuicideCommando Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Well I am still so very looking to it maymay. Thanks for letting me keep bugging you.
maymay1588 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Okay good news finally got the mesh into 3DSmax so now comes getting it work in Skyrim. I'm also working on another project as well for the Nexus, but you can probably expect me to upload it on this thread within the next week latest unless something else goes horribly wrong. EDIT: Scratch that this is actually pretty easy, I'll have the greatsword and longsword versions available if not today then tomorrow just in time for Christmas
maymay1588 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Here it is, you can find them in a chest to the right as you enter the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood or by console typing "edge". I didn't make them craftable, enchantable, or anything like that, but they are pretty strong. EdgeSongGlory.rar Longsword version Greatsword version
maymay1588 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Now I really want to port a Final Fantasy 8 Gunblade
maymay1588 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Got the gunblade in the game, but I'm not sure on this site's rules for releasing it. I ported it from the Oblivion nexus, but the user that created it has been inactive for several years, so I do not know if it is okay to post it.
SuicideCommando Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Haha, this is totally awesome! Thank you again so very much maymay. You really made my day today. I owe you one, that's for sure.
maymay1588 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 You are welcome and sorry the textures are crappy, I used the ones from DA2 and my texturing skills are horrible.
SuicideCommando Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Just tried to get them with a new character. They're not able to be picked up without stealing them. And the textures don't look too bad, same ones as in DAII as you said. -edit- And as for the gunblade, I would ask the moderators about that before posting it. Obviously you should email the creator and see if you get a reply first.
maymay1588 Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 I'm not sure how to get them to not say stolen, I used an unowned chest and placed it into the game. I already messaged the original creator and another who added and new mesh and texture of it, but nothing back yet.
SuicideCommando Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Ok, no biggie. I'll just mess with it and make a crafable version, maybe not so powerful and fast swinging, upgradeable, etc. For my own personal use of course. And as for the gunblade, give it a few days, if no one replies message the Nexus staff and explain to them the situation, see what they say about adding it. They seem really strict about their guidelines for modifying other companies and other creators work, which is understandable but I would think if you put it in the readme that you tried to get the original creators permission that it would be cool to post it. That's just my opinion and $.02 though.
