Is Steam down?

I've tried several times to get onto Skyrim through Steam, but I keep getting nothing just as the game is supposed to load up. I tried Fallout: New Vegas once too. The same exact thing happened.

 

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know what's going on?

Even with Steam down, the game should run, it doesn't require a constant connection or anything. Sounds like something is wrong on your side, but what, who knows.

Have you tried running a non-Bethesda game?

I finally got the game going. I have no idea what happened. You're right, it's something else. I've never had an issue with this before. Hopefully I can keep this going without that happening again.

 

I've played Mass Effect with no issues, but that's not on steam. Only other game I use on steam is The Witcher 2. I'll have to try that out too.

Try running Skyrim.exe from the skyrim foldier in steamapps/common.
