polonius Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Steam no longer shows Skyrim as installed yet keeps counting my hours played. I noticed this before I was about to wipe it and do a long overdue reinstall. It's installed on it's own SD drive with Steam. The only thing recently different was that I installed the SE version on a notebook with a MX130 around xmas to see if it could handle it (spoiler: nope.) Anyone ever see this?
RW311 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Yes I had this problem after swapping drive that skyrim was installed on went bad, made mirror of install on new drive and initially steam had no trouble as it didn't even know drive was replaced but later it showed skyrim and ck were not installed even though they loaded through steam. I eventually just let steam run the install and all it did was detect the existing installation and red/l the changed master files I had cleaned, make a backup if you do it this way but if you are just going to reinstall then just delete the entire skyrim folder and let steam reinstall the entire thing again.
